The Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty is located on Liberty Island in New York. In 1886 American people got it as a gift from the French. Since that time the statue has been the symbol of freedom and of the United States.
The height of the Statue of Liberty is 93 metres (from ground level to torch). Visitors can admire the view of the harbour from its crown.
Fifth Avenue
Fifth Avenue is one of the most well-known streets in the world. Fifth Avenue serves as the dividing line for west-east streets in Manhattan. It separates, for example, East 59th Street from West 59th Street. The avenue is 10 km long.
Fifth Avenue is the symbol of wealth and luxury. A lot of fashionable stores as well as some famous buildings are located here. Among them there is the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Centre and the Cathedral of St. Patrick.
The Brooklyn Bridge
The bridge is divided into three parts. The central part is for pedestrians and cyclists, and the other two are for vehicles. The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the symbols of the USA and can be seen in many Hollywood films.
Central Park
The park looks natural, although its layout was fully designed by a landscape architect. In the park there are artificial lakes, alleys, 2 ice skating rinks and a lot of lawns. Central Park is often filmed in different movies.
Manhattan
There are a lot of skyscrapers in Manhattan. Famous Broadway is also located here. Manhattan is one the most prosperous boroughs of the USA.
Times Square
Times Square is a square in the centre of Manhattan. It is not only the symbol of New York but the USA as well. Times Square is one of the most visited places of interest in the world. A lot of Broadway theatres are located in it. A lot of big companies also have their offices there.
Times Square is full of bright neon advertisement which makes it a very recognisable place.
The Empire State Building
The Empire State Building is a famous skyscraper in New York. This building was the tallest building in the world for a long time. It has 103 floors. There are two observation decks in the building (on floors 86 and 102).
Wall Street
Wall Street is a street in Manhattan. Nowadays the term Wall Street refers to American stock market as a whole.
The New York Stock Exchange building is probably the most prominent one in the street. In the street there are also buildings of other financial institutes.

The United States of America is considered to be a country of unlimited opportunities. Millions of people have arrived there to fulfill their American dream. Some of them dream to become Hollywood actors, others have a wish to live in cozy houses with white fences. Anyway, the USA attracts with its spirit of freedom and democracy. But what is real America really like?
Since the USA is one of the largest countries in the world, it’s very diverse. America is divided into 50 states and each of them has its own star on the American flag. Each state has its own government and even its own laws which differ from state to state. The capital of the USA is Washington where the White House is situated. Other big cities are New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. They are big financial and cultural centers. The interesting fact is that it borders only with two countries, Canada and Mexico, but it’s washed by two oceans, Atlantic and Pacific and is famous for its beautiful beaches in California. The country is rich with different natural resources such as coal, natural gas, gold and silver. It has strong economical system and highly developed industry and agriculture.
The national symbol of the USA is the Statue of Liberty. It accumulates the spirit of democracy and freedom. The Statue is located on an island in New York and it was the first thing that people saw arriving to America on the ferry.
Talking about America, it’s impossible not to mention Hollywood. It is a region in Los Angeles which is the center of American and world movie making industry. It is famous for its movie studios and locations as well as Hollywood Walk of Fame. The stars on this Walk are given as an award to the people for their contribute to the entertainment industry.
In my opinion America is just amazing. I admire its culture and the spirit. I have never been to the USA, but I’m looking forward to going there and seeing everything with my own eyes.

Так как США — одна их самых больших стран в мире, то она очень разнообразна. Америка разделена на 50 штатов и каждый их них имеет свою звезду на американском флаге. У каждого штата есть свое правительство и даже свои законы, которые разнятся от штата к штату. Столицей США является Вашингтон — город, где расположен Белый дом. Другие крупные города — Нью-Йорк, Чикаго, Лос-Анджелес и Сан-Франциско. Они являются крупными финансовыми и культурными центрами. Интересен факт, что США граничит только с двумя странами — Канадой и Мексикой, но омывается двумя океанами — Атлантическим и Тихим и известна своими пляжами в Калифорнии. Страна богата природными ресурсами, такими как уголь, природный газ, золото и серебро. У нее сильная экономическая система, а также высокоразвитая промышленность и сельское хозяйство.
Национальный символ США — статуя Cвободы. Она вобрала в себя дух демократии и свободы. Статуя установлена на острове Свободы в Нью-Йорке и это первое, что видели люди, прибывая в Америку на пароме.
Говоря об Америке, невозможно не упомянуть о Голливуде. Это регион в Лос-Анджелесе, который является центром американской и мировой киноиндустрии. Он известен своими киностудиями и съемочными площадками, также как и Голливудской аллеей славы. Звездами на этой аллее награждаются люди за вклад в индустрию развлечений.
По моему мнению, Америка просто захватывающая. Я восхищаюсь ее культурой и духом. Никогда не была там, но с нетерпением жду возможности отправиться туда, и увидеть все собственными глазами.
