So, let’s talk about one of the most popular sport games all over the world — Football.
It is the national sport of most European and Latin–American countries.
Millions of people play football. It’s even in the Olympics! Games similar to football were played in China as early as 400 ВС. Egyptians played some kind of football too and kicking the ball was involved. In about 200 AD Roman citizens played a game in which two teams tried to score by advancing a ball across a line on the field. Theу passed it to each other, but never kicked it. Nowadays there are two types of football: European and American. By the way, in America european football is called soccer. A soccer team is composed of 11 players: a goalkeeper, backs, half–backs and forwards. The captain of the team is usually the oldest or the best player. The football pitch should be between 100 and 130 meters long and between 50 and 100 meters wide. It’s divided into two halves by the halfway line. In the middle of the field, there is a center circle and goals at each end of the field with the penalty areas. There is a penalty spot inside such area and a penalty arc outside of it. A game of football usually lasts for one and a half hour. At halftime, the teams change ends. The aim of each team is to score as many goals as possible.

Soccer was started around 2000 years ago. Its origin is traced to China although people from Rome, Greece and some sections in Central America also believe soccer originated from their countries. However, it is common knowledge that the current form of soccer was first played in England.
I often play football with my friends in the evening. I like this game because it is exciting and challenging. Because you improve your skills, and get a lot of exercise. Another reason why I love soccer is because it takes a lot of team effort. If one person doesn’t try on the team or doesn’t give 200% your whole team loses.
Football is a team sport played between two teams. Each of the ones have eleven players.
The objective of the game is to score by maneuvering the ball into the opposing team’s goal. The winner is the team which has scored the most goals at the end of the match. Football is played at a professional level all over the world. The famous clubs in the world are in England, Italy, Spain and some countries in South America. Players in these clubs are paid highly.
A very large number of people also play football at an amateur level. Millions of people regularly go to football stadiums to follow their favorite team, whilst millions more avidly watch the game on television.
The football star I admired most in football is Edson Arantes do Nascimento, nicknamed Pelé. Pele is a former Brazilian football player and thought by many to be the finest player of all time. He was also famed for his speed and strength on the ball. Since his full retirement he has served as an ambassador for the sport.
Many people love footbal and I’m one of them.
I think it is the most energetic sport ever.
It is the most watched game in the world and is played in not less than 200 countries worldwide.
Soccer is amazing to me.
I wish to become a professional football player.

Moreover, there are such crazy fans that travel all over the world with their favourite teams and support them all the time. Manchester United, Liverpool, the Arsenal, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea and some others are considered to be the best and most famous clubs in the world.

Around the late nineteenth century, English football began spreading over Europe. The United States was one of the last to implement football as a national sport. The Canadian Soccer Association was established in 1912 while the United States Soccer Federation was set up in 1913.
The first World Cup Championship was in Montevideo, Uruguay. Since then it has been played every four years except during World War II. The North American Soccer League (NASL) was formed in 1968. But it didn’t gain popularity until the 1970’s.
The rules of play for soccer are simple. The referee makes most of the decisions and attempts to encourage fair play. The game starts off with a kick off and the teams are allowed to pass, dribble, juggle, head, kick and shoot the ball to place it down the field, and (hopefully or eventually) into their opponent’s goal.
If the ball is kicked off the field over the length of the field, the other team is given a throw-in, where the ball is thrown over the player’s head, and back onto the field. If the ball is kicked over the goal or across the width of the field, either a corner kick results, realizing by the offensive team, where the ball is placed on the corner of the field and kicked into play or the defensive team is awarded a kick, where the ball is placed on the corner of the goal box, and kicked back into play. If a goal is scored, the ball is taken back to the centre of the field and the team, scored against, kicks off and keeps playing.
