There are four different seasons in the year and they all are unique. They please and surprise us with beauty and natural phenomena. All children and adults have their favorite season. Someone likes spring, someone likes summer, someone waits for autumn and winter. Every time of the year, just like a person has his own mood. There are people who love all seasons.
Many people like summer. This is the time of rest and vacations. This season provides an excellent opportunity to go to the sea and sunbathe. In the summer season, many berries, fruits, and vegetables are ripening. Days are getting longer and hotter, the nights are shorter. You have an opportunity to go to the countryside to the lake, have a picnic, take a walk in the wood. But, unfortunately, this time passes very quickly and autumn comes.
Children go to the school. Fall is the golden time, it’s time to harvest. Green leaves change its color and please with beautiful contrasts of yellow and orange shades. Birds fly away to the south, animals prepare for the winter season. This time does not last long, comes the turn of heavy rains and cold.
And then winter comes. It pleases us with New Year’s holidays and fun. A lot of white, fluffy snow falls. In winter, you can ski, sled, and skate, ride in the mountains, build snowmen. Winter gives us a New Year mood. People begin to prepare for the holiday, decorate the trees, give each other gifts and have fun.
After a cold, frosty winter, spring comes. Everything around comes alive and awakens. The days become longer and warmer. The sun more often makes us happy with its rays. Birds come back and please us with their twitter. The snow melts and the murmurs of streams can be heard. Appears the first grass, flowers. Blossom buds in the trees. Forest animals get out of their holes. May beetles fly in. New life comes, with the arrival of spring.

Autumn
Everyone knows that there are four seasons in a year and each season has its charm. Let’s take autumn first. In September and the beginning of October it’s still warm and the sun shines brightly in the cloudless sky. Then November brings us cool winds, nasty and bloomy days which become shorter and shorter. Cold autumn rains are awful as they pour for hours. Nature is slowly falling asleep. However, there are lots of people who like autumn because it’s the time of harvest and golden leaves. Besides, poets of all nations considered autumn the most beautiful season of the year.
Winter
Then comes winter. I should say it’s not very cold in our region. There aren’t many snowstorms and snowdrifts. In winter we all enjoy skating and skiing. Moreover, we celebrate New Year and Christmas with lots of presents. Snow covers the ground from December to March and it seems that winter will never end.
Spring
March brings us hopes and nature wakes up after a long sleep, birds come back from warm countries and everything around us promises something new and exciting. I am always glad that winter is over with its long black nights and the wind howling outside. In spring trees burst into leaves, fresh and lovely, the air smells of young grass and first flowers. Everything is filled with life pleasures.
Summer
Then spring turns to summer. To my mind, it’s the most marvelous season of the year. I like being on a hot day in a cool river, picking berries and mushrooms and lying on the beach. We enjoy every minute of the weather, but the main thing is certainly having a three-month holiday. In summer we have new meetings, new impressions and merry time. But summer is over and autumn comes and everything starts from the very beginning.
Conclusion
I’d like to finish saying that despite my love for the summer I admire other seasons as well.

Spring
Almost everyone loves spring. This period is full of life, light and colour. When spring comes, the first green leaves appear on trees, flowers bloom in gardens, and days get longer. Birds come back and build their nests and there are fantastic thunderstorms in May.
Summer
Long summer days are the favourite period for all birds and animals. It may be rainy and hot. Students have got a long holiday. In summer, we like swimming, having sunbathed and going to the countryside or to the seaside.
Winter
The coldest season of the year is winter with its short days. There are lots of snow and icy. Rivers cover with ice. But some people like winters, because they can go skiing, skating and sledging. We have the most important holiday in December — it is a New Year.
Autumn
This period of the year is beautiful and colourful in Russia, but it’s usually rainy. The weather is getting overcast and days become gloomy. The leaves are changing colour and falling down the trees. People like going to a forest to pick up mushrooms.

The year is divided into four seasons: winter, spring, summer, and autumn. Each season has its good and bad sides.
The weather in spring is generally mild but sometimes the days are really cold, especially in the beginning of the season. It is the time when everything awakes from its winter sleep.
Summer is the hottest season. It’s time for holidays. People go to the seaside to sunbathe, to swim or to have a rest. In our country it usually gets hot in the end of June and July. Summer nights are short, but wonderful, the days are long.
Talking about autumn, I guess it isn’t as niece as summertime. It’s a season of winds and beautiful sunsets. The weather gets cooler and cooler. The leaves turn yellow and reddish and fall down to the ground and the birds migrate to warm countries.
A spell of sunny weather in September is called Indian summer or « Golden Autumn», In the end of November it sometimes snows. Though some people like autumn, because it is full of colours, but to my thinking it’s a dull and rainy season.
Winter is the coldest time of the year. It is time of snow and frost. It is time of New Year and Christmas. In winter the temperature rarely can cross the point of ten or fifteen centigrade below freezing point in our country.
